December 1942. The German 6th Army was encircled at Stalingrad.
The troops were rapidly weakening. 96 km southwest, two Panzer Divisions, the 6th and 23rd, launched a relief offensive, offering the besieged army its last hope: von Manstein's Operation Wintergewitter, or "Winter Thunderstorm."
South of the ring was the Soviet 51st Army, weakened by its battles with the 4th Panzer Army. Despite fierce resistance, the 57th Panzer Corps crossed two rivers in 12 days. However, the deteriorating strategic situation forced the 6th Panzer Division to change course and abandon its attempt to rescue the 6th Army.

Players take command of the German 57th Panzer Corps or the Soviet 51st Army and 2nd Guards Army.
This game uses the "48th Panzer Corps System," which emphasizes the unique characteristics of each branch of the military: tanks, infantry, and artillery.
The German player must use their powerful forces to pave the way for the 6th Army and enable allied forces besieged at Stalingrad to escape.
This is a reprint of the supplement to BANZAI Magazine Issue 17. The rules are the same, but a "Historical Hindsight Victory Condition" has been added (as this is only an additional rule, it can be used by players who already own the original).
