Rekibodo is a sister publication to Command Magazine Japan, featuring a history-themed board game in every issue. Published semi-annually in summer and winter, the magazine spotlights various historical incidents and events ranging from Japanese to Western history, spanning from ancient times to the early modern era.
The theme of the second issue is the "Battle of Okehazama," the clash that served as the catalyst for Oda Nobunaga’s rise to power. While traditionally famous for being won through a surprise attack, the true nature of this battle remains one of history's great mysteries.
The featured game, "Okehazama Senki," recreates this historic battle based on the latest historical research. Players have the flexibility to set up the game according to the traditional narrative or explore alternative setups based on modern historical theories.
Originally released as a limited indie (doujin) title in 2022, Okehazama Senki garnered significant acclaim as a definitive recreation of the battle. This Rekibodo edition is an updated version, featuring new rules and balance adjustments implemented by the original designer.
