【Product Description】"TOGO: Dawn of the Dreadnoughts" is a tactical simulation game that recreates naval battles from the Russo-Japanese War in the form of a scenario.
Fleet operations, which can often be complicated, are recreated with simple rules. Instead, artillery and torpedo attacks feature a thrilling game system that will have you on the edge of your seat.
Players take command of the Japanese and Russian fleets, and aim to destroy the enemy fleet.
The original concept was "Tsushima," published in S&T magazine, and while artillery resolution and damage determination are detailed, movement is based on an alternating movement system, making for a highly playable game system. Of course, for those who want more than that, plot-based rules are also available.
For artillery fire, the number of hits is determined based on firepower. Of course, if the target's armor is thick, small-caliber guns will not inflict damage. Furthermore, the location of damage is determined for each hit. Main or secondary guns may be destroyed, or the hull may be damaged, causing flooding. In addition, "special damage" may occur, meaning a ship may be sunk with a single hit.
There are five scenarios in total.
As well as the practice historical scenarios of the "Battle of Ulsan" and the climactic "Battle of Tsushima" and "Battle of the Yellow Sea", there are two hypothetical battle scenarios available: "The Russian Pacific Fleet Sets Out", which imagines what would have happened if the Russian Pacific Fleet had sortied in June 1904, and "Deadly Battle! the Russian Pacific Fleet", in which the fleets of both sides clash off the coast of Port Arthur as soon as the war begins.
In addition, data and units have been made available for the pre-dreadnought battleships of both sides that did not make it into the actual battle, so you can enjoy creating your own scenarios.
