【Product Description】"Moudou Houkou" (Battleship Thunder) is a military exercise/simulation focused on battleship-to-battleship gunnery duels of the 1930s and 1940s.
The game aims to recreate the entire fire-control process—from rangefinding and ranging shots to the final effective fire—without the need for complex written plotting. This title focuses heavily on fleet maneuvers (column, line abreast, turning), the relationship between firing arcs and firepower, and the process of error correction and straddling the target using fire-control systems.
Torpedo attacks by cruiser and destroyer squadrons are handled abstractly using a simplified resolution system.
The game includes several scenarios:
Hypothetical Fleet Engagements (1929–1931 and 1941): What-if battles between the Imperial Japanese Navy and the U.S. Navy.
Mapless Play: A specific scenario designed to be played without a map board.
While there are no scenarios featuring the Yamato or Musashi, players can engage in hypothetical battles as the U.S. ships USS Missouri and USS New Jersey are included.
